District Programs
La Salle Redboine Conservation District offers a number of beneficial programs to landowners dealing with Soil Management, Water Management and Pasture Management. Click on the Program name below for a downloadable application.
Bufferstrip Program
A Bufferstrip is a permanent strip of either low maintanence (low dry matter production) or hay type forage, seeded along a designated drain or municipal ditch.
Download Application
Grassed Waterway Program
A Grassed Waterway is a broad, shallow saucer shaped channel with adjacent buffer strips protected by grass, legumes or other vegetation. These waterways are designed to carry surface run-off across agricultural land with minimum soil erosion.

Gully Erosion Program
A Gully is a large eroding trench created by water erosion that exists along areas of extreme change in relief, which cannot be stabilized under sod conditions.
Download Application
Shelterbelt Program
A Shelterbelt is a row of trees planted in order to act as a wind break, in otherwise open rural landscapes. LSRB will loan out tree-planters and mulch-applicators to landowners planting Shelterbelts.

Salinity Seed Assistance
This program is intended to provide technical assistance and funding for varieties of salt tolerant grass species to affected landowners. Download Application
Sediment Barrier Program
A Sediment Barrier or trap is designed to contain eroded sediment at the same location from which it originates. Download Application
Abandoned Well Sealing
Sealing abandoned wells is a common practice of the Conservation Districts. CD's have a vested interest in protecting groundwater quality and view abandoned wells as a possible entry source for contaminants.
Download Application
Well Shock Chlorination
Shock Chlorination is a procedure to destroy microbial growth impairing private well water. It can reduce the risk to human health from bacterial contamination.

Constructed Wetland Program
This program offers funding, technical assistance and implementation to producers and communities throughout the district for construction or augmentation of existing wetlands for the purification of run-off waters from sewage lagoons and feedlot situations.
Download Application
Water Retention Programs
LSRB will work with landowners to construct water control structures to support our Water Management objectives. Some examples include structures for water storage, backflood dams for increasing soil moisture and vegetation potential, and flood control structures to help control downstream flooding caused by spring run-off and rain events. Download Application
Flood Protection Diking Program
LSRB will work with landowners to provide containment dikes to protect farm yard homes, and shield overland flood waters from washing and leaching contaminants out of farm yards.
Download Application
Farm Yard Run-off Control Top-up Program
This program offers top-up funding for producers implementing the Growing Forward Run-off Control BMP. Download Application
Relocation of Livestock Facilities Top-up Program
This program offers top-up funding for producers implementing the Growing Forward Livestock Facilities Relocation BMP.
Download Application
Alternative Watering System Assistance
An Alternative Watering System is a pumping system that allows livestock to drink from an ideally located trough instead of directly from natural water sources.
Download Application
Pasture Pipeline Plow Rental
The Pasture Pipeline Plow is a tool that allows landowners to bury livestock watering lines to a depth of 2 feet. It enables producers to pump water to areas of pasture that would not normally contain a drinking water source for livestock.
Download Application
Rotational Grazing Program
LSRB will help to pay a portion of fencing costs for interior fencing in pastures and dugout perimeter fencing, to allow livestock producers to manage their pastures for greater sustainable yields.
Download Application
Riparian Fencing Program
LSRB is committed to limiting livestock access to reservoirs and other water sources to protect water quality, stabilize shorelines, provide wildlife habitat, and improve herd health. We will provide funding for fencing materials, and technical assistance to livestock producers who limit access to natural or artificial water bodies that are normally used for watering.
