Pasture Pipeline Plow

The Pasture Pipeline Plow Rental Program promotes the conservation of clean water and the prevention of any future contamination through the use of establishing an alternative watering system to water livestock.  By trenching in a plastic PVC pipe between 18” - 24” in the ground and installing an alternative watering system, you will be able to pump water to any location within a paddock or pasture that is needed.  Water can be pumped from an existing dugout, lake, river, creek, well or even from your home.  System operation usually runs from spring to late fall with winter preparation to prevent any damage during the winter months.

There are many direct and indirect benefits for establishing a pasture pipeline system with an alternative watering system.  By providing livestock with a separate watering source away from surface water (dugouts, lakes, rivers and creeks), you can improve the health of your herd as well as the quality of the surface and ground water in surrounding areas.  Having control of water quality, quantity and location within a pasture allows the producer to maximize stocking densities.  In combination with a rotational grazing system, producers can make the most of their land realizing faster weight gains, higher stocking densities and improve forage utilization.
